Giro has redesigned the Empire VR90 to offer you one of the lightest and most comfortable shoes for off-road and gravel racing. The upper is made from one-piece Teijin®-Samo® material that won't stretch out or sag no matter how hard you push it. The now legendary lacing system ensures maximum individual adjustability, while the Super Natural footbed offers optimal support and improves both power transmission and pedaling efficiency. The Easton® EC90 carbon sole and Vibram® tread give the shoe stiffness and reliable grip, no matter what surface you move on.

EASTON® ENGINEERED OUTSOLE PLATES

Lighter, stiffer and more comfortable. Giro uses the know-how of the carbon specialist Easton® in the development of the outsole. The result is a sole with maximum rigidity, without having to accept an increase in weight or sacrifices in comfort and fit, exactly in line with the requirements of professional riders. Each sole has been engineered for the ideal stiffness in the toe, arch and heel areas. The soles have the lowest possible height (6.5mm in the area of the pedal plate threads, otherwise flatter). This extremely low sole profile allows a flat, seamless transition between shoe and sole without compromising the fit. The upper material can optimally adapt to the foot without restriction. The neutral platform supports the natural foot position when pedaling.

Vibram®

Vibram® is the world market leader in high-quality rubber soles. Giro uses two different sole materials developed by Vibram®. IdroGrip, the material for maximum grip on any surface, whether wet or dry. Ideal for biking with flat pedals. MegaGrip is more robust with slightly less grip than IdroGrip.
