But where it really shines, quite literally, is with the wraparound reflective action that lights up brightly in the dark while being virtually invisible during the day.

Castelli wanted a jacket that would offer maximum visibility during those late-night commutes but not look ridiculous with all sorts of silver reflective tapes and stripes when you arrive at the office. That's why you apply an almost invisible reflective print to the entire surface of the jacket. You don't really see it when riding during the day or wearing the jacket off the bike, but at night the jacket reflects a distinctive pattern to draw attention.

They didn't stop at the reflex effect. The 20,000 mm water column means that no water can get through. And the 20,000 MVTR breathability means a good amount of moisture can escape. But it's the ventilation details that make this jacket stand out: there's a cuff at the waist that you can close to seal out the wind, or leave open to let in some air from below to keep you cooler. This inner cuff allows us to create a jacket that falls straight at the bottom - a much cleaner and more refined look than a jacket with pleats that come from an internal elastic band.
