Specialized 's streamlined Roval Rapide Cockpit is the legal and fastest shortcut to the finish line. The development team at Roval didn't have an easy task: the new cockpit had to be aerodynamic, light, stiff and uncompromising and thus outwit not only the headwind but also gravity. To achieve this goal, the razor-sharp design of the Roval Rapide handlebar was combined with the benefits of a combination of handlebars and stem. The result is a cockpit that lives up to its name: like in a jet, roadies use it to cut their way precisely through invisible air masses. These features already make the Rapide Cockpit a figurehead among high-performance racing bikes.

Aerodynamic: The combination of handlebars and stem gave the development team unimagined scope for creating an aerodynamic cockpit. The razor-sharp design and streamlined wings noticeably minimize air resistance and the interaction of maximum weight reduction and maximum aerodynamics results in an unbeatable advantage in all breakaway attempts and finish sprints. A full 32 cm lead on a 250 m long finish sprint. This corresponds to a performance advantage of 4 watts. This number was calculated by the Ride Science team in simulation using real performance data, route data and CdA values from Specialized 's WinTunnel, their own wind tunnel. Light and stiff: All roadies know: If there's one thing you can do without, it's weight. What shouldn't be neglected with all the savings is stiffness. In order to meet both requirements and not make any lazy compromises, the development team has manufactured a highly rigid cockpit made of first-class carbon fiber. The Rapide Cockpit supports the winners of the next stage with a perfect ratio of ideal rigidity and minimal weight. The direct connection to the steerer tube results in an unbending and highly precise driving behavior that the fastest sprinters on the World Tour appreciate. For those who believe that more than 10 g of weight can hardly be saved these days: In comparison to the two-piece version consisting of Rapide handlebars and Tarmac SL7 stem, a whopping 50 g could be saved.

Geometry: There is no question that the Roval Rapide Cockpit suits all roadies who want to increase their performance. What is much more important is that this good piece is also ergonomic. To ensure the perfect fit, Specialized offers 15 different stem and handlebar combinations, each with a -6° angle. Developed for perfect comfort on mile-long daily routes in cooperation with our professionals from Retül and the world's best drivers. The radius has been adjusted for more wrist freedom during final sprints or areo positions, while the bend and flare have been adopted from the Rapide handlebar. Hardly any other cockpit reflects how important the relationship between perfect shape and performance is.
