In this chapter we explain the technologies that the manufacturer uses in this product.
3C Maxx Terra
The right 3C compound for Enduro and Freeride tires. Ease of movement uphill and the best grip downhill characterize this mixture as well as a long service life.
3C MaxxGrip
The well-known 3C downhill compound, which many of the best downhillers have trusted for years, is now called 3C MaxxGrip. 3C MaxxGrip offers the ultimate grip and cushioning properties for unrivaled downhill traction.
SuperTacky
The SuperTacky tread is the reference for grip and performance in freeride and downhill tires, in short, the basis of the most successful DH tires in the world. It consists of a basic compound and the SuperTacky mixture, which is extremely grippy in all soil conditions.
EXO Protection
This extremely cut and abrasion resistant material protects the sidewall of various MTB tires. It is very tightly woven, light and very flexible. As a result, the performance of the tires remains convincingly good.
Tubeless Ready (TR)
Tubeless tires have many advantages: You can drive with less air pressure. This gives better traction and reduces rolling resistance. And where there is no inner tube, the risk of punctures is also reduced. MAXXIS TR tires are better prepared for mounting with sealant than other "tubeless ready" tires. Like a real UST tubeless tyre, the bead of the TR tires is completely covered with a layer of rubber. As a result, tubeless installation is successful for all rims with standard dimensions the first time you pump them up and with little liquid. "Normal" MAXXIS MTB tires can also be mounted tubeless with sealant like tires from other manufacturers, as the carcass fabric is very dense. However, only the new MAXXIS TR models are officially approved for tubeless assembly and guaranteed by MAXXIS. The tubeless assembly of other models is at your own risk.
double down
Doubledown tires are constructed like downhill tires: two carcass layers reinforced with a butyl insert in the sidewall. However, thanks to two 120 TPI (instead of 60 TPI) carcass layers and an aramid bead, they are significantly lighter than the downhill tires, significantly more stable and robust than the TR + EXO tires and therefore ideal for hard enduro courses.
Wide trail casing
Wide Trail (WT) construction optimizes tread layout and tire shape on today's wider rims. Traditional tires are developed for narrow rims and get a too square shape on wide rims and thus a less than optimal performance. WT tires are optimized for an internal rim width of 35 mm, but work excellently on all rims with an internal dimension between 30 and 39 mm.
