Maxxis Rekon Race

The latest tire from the long line of XC tires that have already won a World Cup race. The RekonRace succeeded as a prototype almost a year before the start of series production with Nino Schurter in Mont Saint-Anne. This fast semi-slick tire has a similar profile to the Rekon all-round XC tire, but with smaller and lower lugs. Use it as a rear tire together with a more heavily profiled tire such as the Rekon or Ikon on the front wheel. Or front and rear for ShortTrack races and easy, fast racing courses. NEW: The 2.40WT variant is ideal for inner rim widths from 25mm to 30mm.

DualCompound
Two different rubber compounds are processed into a tread strip. We plan the arrangement of the compounds according to the desired properties of the tires.

EXO protection
This extremely cut and abrasion resistant material protects the sidewall of various MTB tires. It is very tightly woven, light and very flexible. As a result, the performance of the tires remains convincingly good.

Tubeless Ready (TR)
Tubeless tires have many advantages: You can drive with less air pressure. This gives you better traction and reduces rolling resistance. And where there is no hose, the risk of a breakdown also decreases. MAXXIS TR tires are better prepared for assembly with sealing milk than other "tubeless ready" tires. Like a real UST tubeless tire, the bead of the TR tire is completely covered with a rubber layer. As a result, tubing-free assembly is successful on all rims with standard dimensions when they are inflated for the first time and with little liquid. “Normal” MAXXIS MTB tires can also be fitted with tubeless sealant like tires from other manufacturers because the carcass fabric is very dense. Only the new MAXXIS TR models are officially approved for tubeless assembly and guaranteed by MAXXIS. The tubeless assembly of other models is at your own risk.

Wide trail casing
The Wide Trail (WT) construction optimizes the tread layout and tire shape on today's modern wider rims. Traditional tires are developed for narrow rims and are too angular in shape on wide rims and thus not exactly optimal performance. WT tires are optimized for an inner rim width of 35 mm, but work excellently on all rims with an inner dimension between 30 and 39 mm.
