BlackChili - it's all in the mix
With Continental's unique tread compound made only in Germany, they have revolutionized the cycling scene. With the legendary BlackChili Compound, Continental was able to answer the eternal question of whether grip or rolling resistance was sustainable.
Regular test victories prove the measurable and tangible advantages for the driver in the laboratory and on the road. The latest polymers as well as specially developed soot particles and fillers guarantee a unique performance.

Vectran - the reference in puncture protection
Vectran ™ is a synthetically produced high-tech fiber based on a natural model. Like spider silk, Vectran ™ is a liquid crystalline polymer (LCP). Vectran ™ is spun from the molten liquid polymer Vectra and processed into a multi-fiber yarn. Spider silk as well as Vectran ™ are extremely tear-resistant and extremely lightweight. Exactly the right properties to be used as a puncture protection insert in a top Continental tire. A Vectran ™ Breaker is lighter, more flexible and protects more effectively against cuts than comparable nylon breakers. The Vectran ™ Breaker does not affect the rolling resistance.
