Asymmetric PR 1400 Dicut wheel from DT Swiss with ceramic OXIC surface coating
The reduced-design PR 1400 OXIC wheels are at the forefront of aluminum road bike wheels! This means low weight, excellent handling, exceptional braking performance as well as quality and durability combined in a wheelset. The rims are wide, asymmetrical, light and thus provide an excellent balance between stiffness and weight. The ceramic OXIC surface coating gives your brakes unprecedented braking properties. In a tubeless setup, the bike gets more comfort and grip in addition to its athletic character.
The Oxic process
With the PR1400 Dicut OXiC wheels DT Swiss presents for the first time the new OXiC technology, which not only gives the wheels a noble, matt black finish, but also important performance features. The OXIC process refers to an electrochemical ceramic coating that makes the rim surfaces very hard and tough. The result is a noble, matt black finish which has excellent braking properties and at the same time reduces the abrasion on the rim to an absolute minimum.
The ceramic layer is produced in a manner similar to anodizing, namely in an electrolyte bath by applying an electrical voltage between the component as one electrode and the container as another electrode. The key difference between anodizing and OXiC is the millions of plasma discharges between the electrolyte bath and the rim, which exert high temperatures and pressures on the forming oxide layer. As a result, the forming oxide melts, tears and solidifies again. In this process, the amorphous (disordered) structure of the oxide changes to a crystalline (ordered) structure. That's why OXiC is so tough and resilient.
technologies
bladed
The middle part of the spoke is forged flat for better aerodynamics. A combination of butted and bladed is possible to meet even higher demands on strength and weight savings.
DICUT
The RRC DICUT Line is the perfect combination of aerodynamics, technology and design. From the advanced, heat-dissipating carbon rims to the reliable hubs with Ratchet system, DICUT wheels are made for high-end and fast times.
Double butted
These spokes have two different diameters. The spoke is partially butted by cold forging. As a result, the diameter becomes smaller and thus enables a reduction in weight while at the same time improving the elongation values.
Prolock
The screw locking system injected into the nipples enables the construction of extremely durable wheels.
No special tool
No special tools are required for normal maintenance.

Ratchet System®
The patented freewheel system with high-precision toothed discs guarantees maximum load capacity and reliability. Thanks to the no-tool concept, the system is very easy and fast to maintain.
RWS
DT Swiss patented impeller mounting system. Stiffer, safer, and easier to use than a quick release. 100% disc brakes suitable.
Straightpull
To achieve an ideal balance between weight and stability, many DT Swiss wheels use different forms of Straightpull spokes. Straightpull spokes do not need a bow and eliminate a weak point. Nevertheless, they can be centered and replaced with standard tools
Tubeless ready
Tubeless ready rims are designed for use with tubeless kits and tires. They allow a correct fit of the tubeless rim tape and the tubeless tire.
Welding procedure rim connection
The welding process produces the most precise, lightest and most stable rim joint. After welding, the joint is plastered to achieve a seamless transition.
