State-of-the-art frame technology
The Filante Hybrid definitely resembles the Filante SLR, the bike of the Astana pro racers: no opening on the frame (except the one needed to charge the engine battery), an integrated carbon monocoque handlebar that houses the shift cables and the electrical system controls are. Like the Filante, the seat post is aerodynamic and made of carbon.
Integrated battery and range
The integrated down tube battery has a capacity of 250 Wh and can be expanded by an additional 185 Wh with an additional bottle battery, which is located on the bottle cage of the seat tube. As in the previous version, there is software and app available for users and traders to manage, monitor and configure the system.
New force sensor
To improve the riding experience, a new bottom bracket has been introduced with the torque (force) and cadence sensor. By using a cadence and power sensor, the user (or rather his pedaling movement - his power) communicates with the motor. This "pedal measurement" allows the system to adjust the level of assistance in such a way that the cyclist has a natural pedaling feel and there is no jerky movement, sudden acceleration or a loss of assistance. In this way, the motor still delivers consistent power even on demanding inclines of more than 10%. All of this contributes to making the riding experience more and more like that of a conventional bicycle.
The force sensor (in combination with the new firmware) also allows an optimization of the battery consumption, as the power supply is much more sensitive and proportional to the force applied by the rider.
New miniature engine
The X20 engine is miniaturized: it is very light (the complete system ranges from the 3.6 kg of the X35 to 3.5 kg of the X20), with modern straight pull spokes (24 pieces), perfectly combined with the Wilier Triestina carbon rims. The new X20 hub motor from Mahle delivers 60 Nm of torque, but has another important innovation. The driver body is easily removed from the "motor" housing for maintenance or replacement. The manufactured freewheel bodies are compatible with Shimano, SRAM XDR and Campagnolo.
Pulsar One as default
The Filante Hybrid comes standard with the Pulsar One. The compact, handy on-board computer provides real-time information on the electrical system data and driving statistics on its 2.1-inch display and – if necessary – the support level can be changed. The Pulsar One connects to the X20 system via the ANT+ protocol and also to other sensors (cadence, power and heart rate monitors) whose data can be shown directly on the display for a better experience.
Rear thru axle
There is one very important detail that makes the Filante Hybrid an absolute novelty in its category: The impeller, which houses the new Mahle X20 motor, can be installed and removed just as quickly as with a normal racing bike with a conventional thru axle . In addition to the quick and easy installation and removal of the impeller, the system provides an automatic connection to the battery. There is no longer a need to manually connect or disconnect cables. It all takes care of itself by inserting the impeller. As? It's simple: the left rear derailleur hanger has a carriage with a built-in electrical connector that positions the hub to make contact with the battery: quickly and without false engagement.
Full integration
The integrated carbon monocoque handlebar picks up on the aerodynamic design of the Filante Bar. However, the hybrid version features the new iWOC button and display on the stem. The system can be switched on and the support modality changed via this interface. The handlebars with this special "design" allow the 4 levels of support (Automatic, Eco, Sport and Boost) to be selected without the cyclist having to take their hands off the upper part of the handlebars: a particular safety plus for the cyclist! Compared to the previous version of the iWoc, Mahle has not only improved the ergonomics, but also the ease of use and reading the data: the charge status of the battery and the selected support mode can be seen at a glance.
Clearance and Geometry
The tire clearance is suitable for a modern road bike and supports rims with tires up to 32 mm wide. The geometry of the Filante Hybrid corresponds to your endurance models. So don't expect an aggressive geometry, even if the bike might look like it: relaxed geometry with a large stack and limited reach. 6 sizes available from XS to XXL.
