Handmade Tires - that's what Challenge from Italy stands for. Glued by hand - not vulcanised. This is a decisive advantage because the pressure and heat process ("vulcanization") significantly influences the ride quality of the tire. The rubber gets harder and suffers from this process. Not so with Challenge tires that are hand glued - they maintain their quality. Challenge tires convince in every layer with the best quality. In the inside the own latex inner tube convinces. It is seamless. To the rubber of the tread, which is made of natural rubber in a company owned factory in Thailand. In contrast to conventionally used synthetic rubber, natural rubber is smoother and, in terms of grip, far superior to synthetic rubber. Whether cyclocross, road or triathlon tires - Challenge tires are of the highest quality. Discover the selection in our Challenge tires shop at HIBIKE.
The roots of Challenge are in 1985. Already then, the Italian company Brewo Italia by Max Brauns started with the distribution of bicycle components. After Max had quarrels over a license agreement with Pirelli around 2000, he founded his own brand called Challenge together with his son Alessandro. That was in 2003. So, now they produce and sell tubular tires and open tubulars. These are higher-quality clinchers, which are just as elaborate and made of the same high-quality material as their tubular brothers, but just "open".
First racing teams drove on Challenge tires in 2005. Erwin Vervecken finally won the 2006 Cyclocross World Championship with Challenge! In the following years cyclocross racers with Challenge-Tires repeatedly achieved victory. Also in 2006, Challenge produced "seamless" latex tubes for the first time, the first of its kind in the world. They were followed by racing tires and today triathlon tires are also on offer.
